The Power of Focus In First Impressions

You can expand your business to offer many different products and services.

But you don't have to talk about them all at once.

When introducing yourself to someone new, it can be daunting to think of fitting everything you do into a short intro - and usually we revert back to basic and vague descriptions that seem to capture it all.

But don't be scared to introduce yourself with only one of your products.

But pick wisely.

Think about who you are talking to, why they may be talking to you and choose an appropriate offering.

Remember that your elevator pitch is only the very beginning of the conversation and it is better to pick a product that will inspire a long chat than to reel off a list of items and see their eyes glaze over.

If they are interested in that, you get a chance to expand later.

The only risk is that you get known as the business that does "x"

But if that results in sales of "x" - is it really such a bad thing?

And what better incentive for repeat business than being shown the full product list slowly but surely?
