Your Long Term Goals
What is the point of your business?
When you start up it is easy to get distracted in the 'game' of startup - how fast can you get investors, how quick can you get to MVP, getting selected for the best demo day out there and so on.
And of course the game of building followers and a community via social media.
But these are all short term goals that may offer little or no benefit to your longer term aims.
Your focus is now on these quick wins that show you are a 'good startup' and don't show anything about you as a good business.
Everything may be focused on how quickly you can generate revenue, but a short term return is no good if the business won't be there five years later.
You have to make sure that every time you focus on a short term goal you know EXACTLY how it helps you get closer to the strategy.
And if you didn't include it in your strategy from the very beginning, don't automatically include it because others say it will be useful.
They can be incredible distractions from your real actions and harm your ability to get to those longer term targets.
