Taking The Leap
Have you spent the last few years focusing on your career only to suddenly wake up one morning and realise that the corporate world isn’t for you?
I’ve been there too.
I know from personal experience that it can feel like a really daunting decision to take the leap into entrepreneurship.
What are the key things to bear in mind before you take the plunge and invest in building your own business?
Save. I can’t stress this one enough. The more money you save the better. Part of setting out on your own means that you’ll be losing that steady, month-to-month income while you focus on getting your company established and building your customer base.
Know yourself and what you want your future to look like. At the end of the day, running your own business is a lot of work. You wear a million different hats and until you grow big enough to hire staff, you’ll probably be doing everything by yourself.
Try it out first before making a big decision. If you want to run your own hairdressing salon then it’s a good idea to gain some experience working part-time in local salons to make sure that it’s something that you actually want to do.
