CRM System
Pro-tip: A critical sign of growing as a business is when your email folder and filing system is slowing you down.
At first, it makes sense - keep every email that gets sent, file it in an appropriate folder, know that you can access it at the touch of a button.
And it works great.
Until the amount of folders you have is daunting and the structure and logic of them has collapsed under the volume.
And how can you still not find anything?!
If you find yourself spending more of your day searching to find the last email from a client, or trying to remember if you have any emails to respond to (you're pretty sure there was a critical one that you ahve somehow let slip from the inbox ...) then it is time to move to the next step.
A CRM system.
For some businesses, it is a very obvious platform that they are going to need.
But I say every business needs some kind of data management system.
And this doesn't have to be a financial investment - many of the products available have a free level that is more than enough to do the most critical things for your business:
- what discussions, activities and tasks do you have with each customer?
- what leads or potential customers do you have on the go?
- who are the next connections you will reach out to for potential business?
- what are the next activities you need to do?
You grow when you can spend more time developing the business than running it. It's time.
